AYUTTHAYA Thailand

A WONDERFUL, MAGNIFICENT SITE TO VISIT.

I know a lot of people goes to Thailand with the idea of swimming in the ocean, going on boat trips and exploring all the magnificent islands.  Ayutthaya is a must if you are passing or if you intent to stay a couple of days in Bangkok.

There is no beaches near this beautiful ancient site, but if its hot drink water and plenty of water.

How to get to Ayutthaya?

We took a day tour from Bangkok to Ayutthaya and it was fantastic, but short.  I would really recommend taking public transport from Bangkok and spend as much time here, the whole day if possible.  On arrival at the train station, walk straight ahead and over the crossroads.  Take the ferry for the river crossing, and then the second left along Thanon Naresuan to the 14th-century Wat Phra Mahathat. The other option that I would recommend is to travel by train, rent a bicycle and get a map.  Follow the mapped route to the most interesting sites, which can be seen in around three hours.

There is a lot of history to take in and too much for one day, so read up before time as much as you can so that you know whats what when you come across this site.

There is so much to see and not only this one site.  Ayutthaya is an ancient city with a lot of sites to visit and a lot of Buddhas to see.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site was once the greatest city in Asia, and the capital of Thailand for more than 400 years.  The site is effectively an island.

I am a mother of two, wife to an amazing husband, travel freak, homemade cook. In my free time, I always decorate something, read books, or do gardening. My favorite coffee spot is any coffee spot as long as it is at an airport. I just love airports.
