Magnificent Grand Palace Bangkok, Thailand
Grand Palace Bangkok full of surprises
Do not leave Thailand if you have not seen the Grand Palace Bangkok. It is just over whelming and most covered gold, the architecture is phenominal. The mistake I made was visiting this attraction last, not a very good idea. The queue is just to long late in the afternoon. We stood in the queue for at least an hour so I would recommend arriving first thing in the morning. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing and ladies make sure your arms and legs are covered.
What to Expect!
Going through the metal detectors and buying the my entrance tickets took just a couple of minutes. The gardens are beautiful and neat. It is all a combination of beautiful serenity, Thai culture and over-the-top splendour. The magnificent Grand Palace Bangkok is spectacular. Situated at the heart of the Bangkok, this city within a city also contains the most sacred Buddha of all the country’s many Buddha. Going through the main entrance you will find the Emmerald Buddha that is made from Jade not emerald and it is housed in Wat Phra Kaeo, a glitteringly decorative royal chapel.
Wear comfortable shoes, because there will be a lot of walking around. Allow at least a couple of hours to see the highlights of the Royal Palace. More than 100 mansions, halls, pavilions and temples form this complex. The architectural style is made up by mosaic-encrusted spires and pillars. The buildings date back more than 200 years.
We have spend about 3 hours walking around and taking it all in. A minimum of 3 hours is what I would recommend, but if you do have more time use it all to stroll around and see as much as possible.
