Edinburgh, the gem of the North
Edinburgh is waiting to be discovered by you
Overtime I visit Edinburgh, I only discover more and more. The city is like a uncleaned diamond that needs cleaning every time you visit and then you end up with the crystal clear beauty in your hand. There are so many nooks, hooks and corners, small narrow cobbled streets, underground city, dungeons, medieval fantasy to be discovered. Where do you start. The people are so helpful and friendly. When walking around this city it feels like a small town where everybody knows everybody and it does not feel like a city at all.
This is the only photo for now and more to come in the future.
The history lies in the streets. At night you can join a street-walker through the city center to experience the history, pain and torture of centuries ago. The Edinburgh military Tatoo festival and International festival takes place here evey year. With all its theatrical influence and history you will not have a boring minute in sight.
Castle rock and Edinburgh Castle on top, is a must see over the city. Downhill follow the royal mile where there is a pub build in a church and end up at the Palace of Hollyroodhouse. On this route there is the cathedral of St. Giles and behind that is the graveyard of John Knox. Mercat cross that is the hub of the old city and John Knox house is walking distance from there. Find Princess Street Gardens between the old and new town under the Castle. Just of Princess Street is Carlton Hill.
Remember to eat like the Scots
Breakfast includes Haggis to Black Pudding. Shortbread and fudge-like tablet is the best. There is such an amazing lively vibe accumulated here. You will never have a dull moment visiting this gem of the north.
