Jordan has more to offer than only Petra
An Amazing Jordan with Petra as a bonus.
Petra, Petra, Petra was all on my mind and the only reason why I wanted to visit Jordan. I was blind and wrong, Jordan is an amazing country and will see me again. The rich in culture, food, beautiful dessert, dead sea as an attraction and the people are welcoming and mind blowing. Eat Turkish delight in Amman opposite the Blue Mosque and walk the streets of this old ancient city. Take a cup of coffee with you when visiting the Ancient city of Jerash, sit, sip on your coffee, take slow breaths and admire the ancient architecture of the columns as the sun changes their color every hour. Ladies, I did not feel quite safe walking around and felt much better while Leon was walking besides me.
Go up to Mt Sinai where you will find the Memorial of Moses and the view is breathtaking. Swimming in the Dead sea and rubbing our bodies with the mud was an experience on its own. As soon as the water reaches your hips it just knocks your feet out from under you and you end up on your back, being taken by the tide and yes there is a tide. Every 3 minutes you need to swim back from where you started. Go and take an shower afterwards. I do have psoriasis and yes there is something about the Dead sea that helps this skin.
Finally Petra
Visiting Petra was a dream come true and another X on my bucket list. We walked the gorge that ends in front of the treasury and that’s the start of a whole new city to explore. So many rooms carved out in these red mountains, such a clean, relaxing and peaceful feeling. For those not fit enough you can take a donkey ride back to the entrance. There is a guided tour where you can visit Petra by night and if you are fortunate enough to be able to go, go and take it all in. Both experiences was worth it. Forget the high heels when visiting this site.
I know I am bad, but I have never seen Lawrence of Arabia and yes that movie I still need to enjoy with popcorn. For those who have will find the Wadi Rum mesmerizing and you need a 4X4 vehicle and driver to take you through this desert. From there we went all the way to Aqaba to soak up the sun, swim in the Red Sea and drink cocktails next to the pool at the hotel.
