Camino de Santiago de Compostela
It is like walking in a daisy field, the Camino de Santiago de Compostela I did not plan to walk the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, neither did my mom. It was in the spur-of-the-moment that we decided. 14 Days later we left Cape Town International Airport heading for Madrid, Spain. We started our pilgrimage route from Burgos. We had to make the best of the 2 weeks even if we did not do any research. I bought a small pocket map with the main route on it. No accommodation was booked and with a small back pack and extra pair of underwear, trouser and t-shirt in. After breakfast me…
Mexico, quite the opposite than what expected
Mexico, Scuba, Chili, Cocktails and much more When travelling from South Africa to the southern part of North America you tend to place Mexico last on your bucket list. First we flew to Sao Paulo, from there we had to fly to Mexico City and then flew to Cancun. It was the longest time I have ever spent in the air, to and back. Oh boy did I enjoy it there. Getting there is very easy, there is regular busses running from Cancun, but in our case we stayed over in Valladolid which is a bit nearer. The temple dominates the whole site of…
Tiger Cave Temple situated near Krabi in Thailand
Tiger Cave Temple Krabi not for the faint of heart After breakfast at the hotel our tour guide for the day picked us up and took us to The Tiger Cave Temple Krabi. As we arrived we entered a cave filled with Buddhas and monks. This is a Buddhist temple one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Thailand. There is also a tiger paw print inside that is well known. After visiting the cave there is a strenuous flight of stairs to reach the summit. There is only one staircase with 1237 steps uphill and remember, what goes up must come down. We all decided to climb the stairs…
